This 16,442 sq ft. fire station, strategically located at Edmonton International Airport (Nisku, Alberta), was delivered on an ambitious seven-month timeline to bolster 24/7 emergency response capability for the region. The facility integrates precast concrete panels and structural steel framing, delivering exceptional durability and rapid construction speed suited to high-performance civic infrastructure.

Kerkhoff Engineering led the design of the foundations, precast panel systems, and structural steel components, ensuring seamless integration of wall panels, wide-span bays, and architectural detailing all while meeting demanding project deadlines. Their engineering expertise in precast and tilt-up concrete building systems enabled efficient coordination, minimizing conflicts and optimizing the structural layout.

Inside, the station includes operator support zones, comfortable living quarters, training spaces, and advanced firefighting systems — all within a robust, resilient structure tailored for mission-critical operations.
